Euphorbia milii, the crown of thorns, Christ plant, or Christ thorn, called Corona de Cristo in Latin America, is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family Euphorbiaceae, native to Madagascar.

It grows as a succulent, leafy and thorny shrub and offers a variety of flower colors from white, cream and yellow, through many shades of pink and red. And some hybrids come in double forms.

Euphorbia milii is a very beautiful and easy-care plant and it makes a perfect plant for beginners.

Light:

A Euphorbia milii plant needs as much bright indirect light as you can provide, but no direct sun.

Water:

Water well and then allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering again.

Soil:

Use a sandy well-drained soil that is 2/3 succulent or cactus soil and 1/3 perlite or coarse sand for a crown of thorns plant.

Flowering:

A Crown of Thorns plant produces variety of colourful flowers in the early spring through late summer. Under the right conditions, this plant will bloom all year.
